Museum collection description: The Museum houses collections of archaeological materials of the Early Stone Age and the Bronze Age (implements, weapons, ceremonial stones, adornments made in various materials, VII-Vi c.c. B.C. bronze sculpture Preacher, fibulas with various images, etc.). The rich numismatic collection includes IV-II c.c. B.C. gold coins, Cholchian tetri, collection of X-XVIII c.c. silver coins. There are also collection of XVIII-XIX c.c. manuscripts and charters, etc. The museum houses a library of XIX-XX c.c. editions (5.000 items), and collection of paintings of XX c. Georgian artists: Lado Gudiashvili’s Samaia, Elene Akhvlediani’s Our Village, and paintings of R.Sturua, S.Maisashvili, R.Adamia, M.Toidze, as well as sculptures of I.Ochiauri, J.Bzhalava. The museum owns land with a vineyard with a unique Cholchian vine, as well as ethnographic section.

Working hours: Everyday, except Monday, 10.00 – 18.00
Ticket price: Schoolchildren – 0.50 GEL, Students – 1 GEL, Adult – 3 GEL.
Free admission: Children up to age of 6; Georgian and Foreign Museum staff, ICOM members (cardholders with ID), people with disabilities (upon presentation of valid ID), refugees.
