Description:
The museum has opened at 26 May, 2006. The museum houses materials, representing period of Georgian history, during the Soviet occupation (1921-1991). Most of items were collected from the Security Service archive, as well as archives of various museums, families, etc. Among them are: different kinds of documents and objects (memorial belongings of Georgian national heroes, doors of the prison, the Shorapani railway wagon connected with tragic fact of massacre of Georgian patriots, etc.), interrogation charge-sheets and list of shot persons (400 pages), photo materials, installations ("The Bolsheviks invasion and establishment in Georgia", etc.). In the exposition there are 8 monitors where one can see the situation during the 70-year period of the occupation. The museum has prepared educational program dedicated to the heroes who fought for the independence of the country. At the moment the museum is situated in the Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia and in near future will move to the own building.
